Landscape
Rocky shores, lakes, coniferous forests and swamps form different natural environments. A well-prepared route in a popular park and a remote northern hike require different preparations. The presence of a beautiful point on the map does not mean free access to it.
Animals and observation
Do not approach or feed wild animals. On Ladoga, the Ladoga seal requires special attention: observation should not interfere with the animals resting or raising offspring. Use distance to take pictures rather than trying to get closer.
Protected areas
A reserve and a national park have different purposes and regimes. In Kivach, independent visits are limited to the excursion area. In the Ladoga skerries, zoning, permitted parking and restrictions on vessel traffic are important. In Paanajärvi, the trip must be agreed upon in advance. Check the current rules for your specific territory.
