What data is stored in the browser and when an external service is connected.

Required session

When using your account and forms, the KARELIA_SESSION cookie is used to log in and secure requests. It has HttpOnly and SameSite, for a public HTTPS site - Secure. This is a necessary technical cookie and not an advertising identifier.

Own trip

After adding a place, the plan is saved under the karelia-trip-v1 key in the localStorage of this browser. When synchronizing, you separately send a list of stops to your account. You can remove places on the My Trip page or clear site data in your browser. The device does not request the current position.

Old settings and cache

In the previous version, the language could be saved as karelia-lang. The language is now determined by the URL. The old value can be deleted in the browser settings. The HTTP cache stores images, styles, and fonts for re-opening pages.

External substrate

OpenStreetMap is connected only after the download button for a detailed map. If you do not want to send technical requests to this service, use the overview map. Details - in politics. Yandex Metrica counter No. 113817114 with Session Replay runs only after separate consent to analytics. This consent is not required to browse the website.

Analytics preferences

Your choice is saved in localStorage under karelia-analytics-v1 for up to 180 days. Change it using “Analytics preferences” in the footer. After consent, Metrica may store _ym_uid, _ym_d and other identifiers; individual lifetimes are listed in its official documentation. On refusal, _ym entries accessible to this site are removed and the counter is disabled. Cookies on Yandex domains can be removed in your browser settings.
