About the project

KARELIA ATLAS is an independent information project about Karelia: its cities, natural landscapes and cultural places.

How to use the atlas

Start with directions or interactive map. Select a territory, read a short description of the place and see its position. The map shows 16 places in six tourist destinations.

The tourist division is conditional. Coordinates serve as a guide and not as a replacement for road navigation. Before traveling, check entrances, visiting hours and access conditions with the relevant organization.

Editorial approach

The atlas provides overview information. The pages do not sell tickets, make reservations or accept payments. Moving and business guides link to cities, organizations, and practical tools. Questions and reviews from visitors are moderated.

The cover of the main page is an artistic rendering. Photos of specific places are signed; authors, licenses and geodata sources are available on the page "Authors and sources".
